BenQ America Corp. an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions, today introduced its new MH680 and MH740 projectors. Designed to be the central components of any entertainment or presentation setup, the new devices combine crisp 1080p picture quality with 3D PC/Blu-ray readiness.
The MH680 offers the flexibility to display content wirelessly via BenQ’s QPresenter app, while the MH740 boasts LAN control for remote monitoring. To lower the units’ total cost of ownership (TCO), the projectors also feature BenQ’s power-saving SmartEco™ technology, which extends projector lamp life up to an amazing 6,500 hours.
“The new MH680 and MH740 projectors were designed to reflect the evolving needs of today’s multi-application users by providing a wide range of features at a more affordable price,” said Bob Wudeck, Associate Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “With nearly double the pixel count of traditional WXGA devices, BenQ’s MH740 is available for a fraction of the cost of top-selling 3LCD WUXGA projectors. When combined with the MH680’s BYOD interactivity in addition to the pair’s energy-saving lamp technology, both units deliver outstanding experiences, long-lasting color performances, and tremendous value.”
Designed to deliver accurate, crisp, and long-lasting Colorific™ picture quality, the MH680 offers a high 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 3,000 lumen brightness, while the MH740 features an 11,000:1 contrast ratio and brightness of 4,000 lumens. Both projectors offer full HD 1080p resolution. For portability and convenience, the units provide integrated 10W speakers and the ability to cast 3D content directly from PCs and Blu-ray devices, allowing presenters and home theater enthusiasts to enjoy lifelike experiences without increasing setup complexity.
Featuring BenQ’s QPresenter app, the MH680 allows up to four participants to collaborate and share documents, photos, and Internet content directly from their handheld devices onto boardroom or living room projection screens. To further enhance collaboration, the technology provides 2:1 and 4:1 split-screen viewing options, which allows sketching directly onto existing documents, and provides access to content from Dropbox or email via users’ mobile devices. To ensure privacy, QPresenter provides double-layered security through IP address and password authentication. For rapid plug and play, the MH680 also features a USB reader and display capabilities, allowing users to quickly connect via solid state media storage drives to enable rapid content convenience without connecting a PC. For IT managers, the MH740’s LAN control feature simplifies facility-wide maintenance by enabling easy remote monitoring and control of the unit directly from workstations.
To lower TCO, both the MH680 and MH740 feature BenQ’s SmartEco technology, which automatically adjusts lamp power to deliver up to 6,500 and 3,500 hours of lamp life, respectively, and energy savings of up to 80 percent without any compromise in picture-quality. To further reduce power consumption, an “Eco Blank” mode allows users to blank out the screen whenever projection isn’t needed, while a “No Source Detected” mode automatically reduces power consumption to 20 percent when no source has been detected for more than three minutes. With the “Auto Power Off” function, the MH680 and MH740 will automatically shut down when not in use for 30 minutes, providing even more energy savings.
Available now, the MH680 and MH740 projectors retail at $799 and $1,499 respectively (street pricing).
