A new JVC Bluetooth speaker announced today offers selectable sound modes to suit different listening situations, NFC technology for easy setup, and the availability of an app for controlling the speaker from a smartphone.

The new JVC SP-ABT30 Bluetooth wireless speaker provides three selectable sound modes: Normal Stereo for most personal listening, Enhanced Stereo for a wider stereo soundfield, and 360-Degree Sound that expands the soundstage even further and is ideal for shared listening. To ensure impressive bass performance, the SP-ABT30 features a passive radiator that delivers deeper, richer bass than would be expected from a speaker of its size.

For easy pairing between the SP-ABT30 and a wireless device, JVC incorporates Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, which provides fast, simple pairing with NFC-enabled devices, plus Bluetooth technology.

Remote control of the speaker from a smartphone is possible via a free iOS and Android app. What’s more, a built-in microphone allows the speaker to be used for hands-free calling.

The new JVC SP-ABT30 Bluetooth speaker will be available in May 2014 in three colors – black, red or white – for $199.95.
