Fujitsu today announced the release of 10 new enterprise models from nine series, including thin clients and one zero client, as well as a tablet, desktop PCs and workstations that come installed with the latest Windows 8.1 Pro operating system. All models are being released in Japan starting today(1).

FUTRO ME734

In its FUJITSU Tablet ARROWS Tab line of tablets, Fujitsu is releasing a new model, the ARROWS Tab Q704/PV, which won an outstanding product award in the MCPC award 2014 program(2). Equipped with a compact palm vein authentication sensor, and available with CLEARSURE 3G/LTE(3) remote data-deletion solution(4), this tablet combines robust security with maximum mobility.

Fujitsu has also updated its FUJITSU Zero and Thin Client FUTRO line. The FUTRO L420 is Fujitsu’s first desktop “zero client,” that has no CPU, storage, or operating system, is being sold within Japan for the first time, and the desktop thin client FUTRO S720 and laptop thin clients FUTRO ME734 and FUTRO MA574 are also newly available. With Fujitsu’s virtualization solutions and complete line-up of zero and thin client terminals, businesses can bring the benefits of more secure work environments to a variety of operations.

The FUJITSU PC ESPRIMO line of desktop PCs feature a new ultra-small form factor, while the FUJITSU Workstation CELSIUS line of workstations has been updated with the latest CPUs.

Key Features of the New Products

1. The FUJITSU ARROWS Tab Q704/PV tablet with a compact palm vein authentication sensor

This tablet is loaded with Windows 8.1 Pro, the latest version of that operating system, and is equipped with the latest fourth-generation Intel® Core™ i5 Processor, along with a 12.5″ wide-format LCD screen. It also has a compact palm-vein sensor based on Fujitsu’s proprietary technology for biometric authentication. This authenticates quickly and accurately to prevent unauthorized usage. It also supports CLEARSURE 3G/LTE remote data-deletion solution, allowing for mobile use with more security and peace of mind. These highly regarded security features are why this tablet received an outstanding product award in the MCPC award 2014 program.

In addition, when docked to the optional ‘Turbo Mode Expansion Cradle’, with customizable options, it switches automatically from low-power normal mode to high-performance turbo mode, which runs the CPU at maximum power. The expansion cradle enables connections to a large-screen display monitor, keyboard, and other peripherals, making it ideal for creation of work materials.

2. FUTRO line of thin clients for businesses updated, new “zero client” added

Fujitsu is releasing the desktop FUTRO S720 thin client with a new design, the mobile notebook FUTRO ME734, and the A4-sized notebook thin client FUTRO MA574, along with the groundbreaking FUTRO L420, a “zero client” that has no operating system, no CPU, and no storage, all of which are being made available in Japan. Zero clients can easily access virtual environments, and because they store no data whatsoever, they are easy to maintain and have excellent security.

Also, for the first time, these come preinstalled with FUJITSU Software Systemwalker Desktop Patrol(5) integrated operations-management software, enabling simple, centralized security management and resource management of thin clients, peripherals, and all other ICT resources.

Offering a broad range of zero and thin clients to suit different business needs, Fujitsu makes it possible to run virtual desktop environments that leave no data behind, resulting in a lower administrative burden, improved mobility, and enhanced security. In March 2014, Tokyo Denki University placed an order for 350 of the FUTRO L420 zero clients to be used as office terminals at all its campuses.

3. Enhancements to the ESPRIMO line of business PCs and CELSIUS workstations

Fujitsu has added three models to its ESPRIMO line. The ultra-compact ESPRIMO Q520/J comes installed with Windows 8.1 Pro, the latest version of that operating system. Despite its extremely compact design, it can come with an optical drive as a custom option. When combined with the optional custom-made ‘Monitor Mount Kit’ or the optional ‘Display Arm’, all the space that would normally be occupied by the PC itself and the monitor stand is cleared, giving back more desk space. Newly added to the line are the ESPRIMO D753/J high-end model, equipped with fourth-generation Intel® Core™ processors, and the ESPRIMO D583/J multi-functional model.

New additions to the CELSIUS line are the CELSIUS W530 minitower workstation, which is available with the latest Intel® Xeon® E3-1200v3 family of processors as a custom option, and the CELSIUS J530 compact workstation, providing smooth work support to customers.
