Visualization specialist Barco announces the launch of the TL-358/2: its renewed 23” Full HD rugged display that combines unmatched thinness with exceptionally low weight. The new model offers the same form-fit-function as its predecessor but includes the latest innovations in electronics and video processing, PCAP multi-touch technology, and connectivity with new signal formats. Barco’s TL-358/2 will be on display at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2014, 12-15 May, in Orlando, Florida (US).

Barco’s TL-358/2 rugged display provides excellent image quality in Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and in a 23” widescreen (16:9) format. Equipped with an LED backlight, the TL-358/2 offers a long lifetime and excellent performance in terms of brightness, dimming, crispness, contrast, and viewing angle – while reducing power consumption. It can display a wide variety of video signal formats, including DVI, VGA and HD-SDI.

Sophisticated and tough

“The TL-358/2 features a projected capacitive multi-touch screen – supporting up to 10 simultaneous touches – that can be operated by hands, gloves or stylus. This ensures a fast, highly accurate touch response and allows for gesture-based controls, such as zoom, pan and rotate,” comments Steven Luys, Barco’s Vice President Strategic Marketing for Defense & Aerospace. “Like all of Barco’s TL displays, the new display is equipped with LCD Flicker Compensation (LFC), low-latency image processing, and Automatic Phase Adjust (APA) technology to eliminate image artifacts.”

With a depth of merely 47 mm (1.85”) and built to high-level shock and EMI/EMC specifications, the TL-358/2 is a perfect fit for naval, UAS and shelter applications. A fully enclosed, drip-proof unit, the display can be easily integrated into racks and consoles. The unique bonded optical stack protects the LCD against extreme environmental conditions and prevents condensation in humid climates.
